***DISCLAIMER***
Prepare to have the urge to rip your eyes our, fellow OCD readers, for the amount of typos you will encounter in this passage is going to BLOW YOUR MIND! At some point here soon, I may decide to go in and edit it properly, but for now I’m just going to let it ride =3

Welcome back, and it’s glad to be back! I now present to you Page 15 of my 365 page book.

——

Ryker and Leighton walked down the dimly lit street side, each still tingling with the after-effects of the kiss.

Ryker had an airy detachment. The lips he’d imagine kissing over and over in his head for three years… It finally happened. He hiked his bookbag higher onto his shoulder and resisted the urge to smile. He didn’t want Leighton to become weirded out by his giddyness.

Leighton felt confused. Never had she displayed such an open display of affection, and in public no less! Of course, she had never felt this way before Ryker, so was it not warranted? She didn’t know. But…it felt right, as if some weight were lifted from her shoulders. Like she really could be happy. She wasn’t losing Ryker like she’d lost everything else in her life. He was still here, with her, and for that, she was glad.

They turned the corner before Ryker felt the need to speak. “So, uh, where to now?” He couldn’t fully look at Leighton, for fear that he may be blushing, and she would notice in the lamplight.

Leighton stared off into the darkness of the empty streets. “I’d say call a cab, but I doubt either of us has a cell phone right now. Let’s…let’s just walk. See where the roads take us.” She tapped her head. “I’ll know when the Ryodan are on our tails again. We seemed to have thwarted them for a bit when we crossed the river.” Plus, I like just being here in the moment with you, Leighton added silently.

Ryker nodded. “Walking it is.” He held out his arm like he was asking Leighton for a formal dance.

Leighton gave a small smile and linked her arm around his. “Where to?” she asked. “I don’t live in this area, so I don’t know where much of anything is outside of the school.”

Ryker looked around, deciding on a direction to go. “Well, depending on time, we could go to the park. It’s nothing special–just a few benches, so courts, and a playground for kids–but it’d be empty this time of night.” He looked down at Leighton. “Or since we’ll be gone for a while, we could just…go.”

“Go where?” Leighton replied.

Ryker shrugged. “Just go. You pick a direction, any direction, and we’ll just set off.” His lips tilted in a shadow of the grin Leighton knew it could be, and it made her heart soar. “I guess in it’s own way, aside from the life-changing and life-threatening events, it’s kinda cool. We have the whole world at our fingertips.” He nudged Leighton’s shoulder lightly. “You get to decide how we tackle it.”

Leighton’s eyes misted, but she fought back the tears. She wanted to enjoy this moment as much as Ryker was, so she hugged up to his arm with a happy smile, and pointed north.
